Our History
The Mayfair Venue is steeped in rich history and timeless charm. Originally built in 1933 as the Embassy Cinema, it was part of a vibrant neighbourhood known for its love of film. Our name pays tribute to the area’s very first cinema, the Mayfair Cinema, which once stood as a local cultural landmark.
In 1966, the building transformed into a bustling bingo hall, welcoming generations through its doors until its closure in 2014. In 2015, the space was reimagined and reborn as The Mayfair Venue—an elegant, modern events venue designed to host unforgettable weddings, concerts, parties, and corporate events.
Today, The Mayfair Venue boasts two stunning event spaces—the Grand Ballroom and the Mayfair Lounge—alongside three versatile meeting rooms, offering a combined capacity of 2,015 guests. With a legacy rooted in entertainment and celebration, The Mayfair Venue continues to be a sought-after destination for all types of occasions.
